Aiming for Nov 1 return
Rothrock (hamstring) is will look to be fit for the Nov 1 match against Vancouver, reports Jackson Fetts of 93.3 KJR.
Analysis: Rothrock received encouraging news, as he could return as soon as Nov. 1 after working his way back from a hamstring injury. He has been sidelined for nearly a month, missing eight matches during that span. The midfielder had established himself as a regular starter for Seattle, recording five goals and one assist in 22 appearances, including 19 starts.
Set for extended absence
Rothrock will be sidelined for around eight to 10 weeks with a severe hamstring injury that has affected his tendon, according to manager Brian Schmetzer.
Analysis: Rothrock picked up the injury against the Galaxy on Sept. 13 and will likely miss the rest of the 2026 MLS season. Even in the best-case scenario, Rothrock would be in line to return to action in mid-November, and the regular season ends Nov. 7. With the Sounders on the verge of being eliminated from playoff contention, Rothrock is likely to be back on the pitch for preseason in the winter of 2027 unless he surpasses even the most optimistic projections about his recovery.
