Doubtful for midweek cup clash
Szoboszlai is unlikely to return for Wednesday's Carabao Cup encounter against Chelsea as he continues recovering from a hamstring injury, according to coach Andoni Iraola. "And with Dom and Victor, I'm not so sure. I don't want to say no, but I think it's going to be more difficult than Florian, yes."
Analysis: Szoboszlai remains uncertain for Wednesday's cup clash against Chelsea after missing Sunday's Premier League victory against Brighton due to a lingering hamstring issue. The Hungarian midfielder initially sustained the injury during Liverpool's 2-1 victory over Brentford, forcing him off in the 32nd minute, and has since been working individually to regain full fitness. Coach Iraola previously indicated that Szoboszlai was approaching a return to team training but emphasized the importance of avoiding another setback after his early withdrawal against Brentford. The coach has now suggested that the midfielder is less likely to feature against Chelsea than Florian Wirtz (ankle), although a definitive decision has yet to be made. Szoboszlai's participation will depend on his progress in training, with Liverpool expected to remain cautious given the congested schedule. Ryan Gravenberch and Alexis Mac Allister should continue handling central midfield responsibilities if the Hungarian international remains unavailable.
Continues individual training
Szoboszlai (hamstring) will miss Sunday's Premier League clash against Brighton as he continues training individually and has yet to regain sufficient fitness for competitive action, according to coach Andoni Iraola. "Dom is going to be out this weekend. I don't think he's far but he hasn't trained with the group still. And also considering the other day that we started him and he had to go out, we will probably take one or two days more than we would last week. He's in a good place. Dom is already training outside alone and is going to train with the group, but he's not ready for this one."
Analysis: Szoboszlai remains sidelined with a hamstring issue that forced him off in the 32nd minute of Liverpool's 2-1 victory over Brentford. The Hungarian midfielder has not suffered a new injury or aggravated the existing problem, but his recovery has taken longer than initially anticipated. He is currently limited to individual training and will miss another fixture against Brighton on Sunday, although his absence is not expected to be prolonged. Ryan Gravenberch and Alexis Mac Allister remain the likely central midfield partnership in his absence, with Szoboszlai still awaiting clearance to resume full team training.
