Clears one-match suspension
Blackmon has served his one-match suspension following his straight red card against Los Angeles FC and is eligible to return for Saturday's MLS clash against Austin FC.
Analysis: Blackmon was sent off just six minutes into the defeat against Los Angeles FC after committing a last-man foul, forcing him to miss the midweek matchup against St. Louis City. The center-back has now completed his suspension and should be in contention to reclaim his starting role Saturday. Mathias Laborda was the leading candidate to replace him alongside Ralph Priso during his absence, but Blackmon's return provides Vancouver with an important defensive reinforcement ahead of the upcoming fixture.
Sent off early against LAFC
Blackmon was shown a straight red card in the sixth minute of Saturday's trip to Los Angeles FC.
Analysis: Blackmon committed a last-man foul that led to an inevitable end to his participation in Saturday's match. He'll consequently serve a one-game ban in the midweek fixture at St. Louis City, looking to return to action against Austin on Oct. 17. Mathias Laborda started on the bench against Los Angeles and is the obvious candidate to join Ralph Priso in the middle of the defense while Blackmon is suspended.
Makes three tackles at LA Galaxy
Blackmon recorded three tackles (one won), three clearances and one interception in Saturday's 1-1 draw against Los Angeles Galaxy. In addition, he was given a yellow card in the 87th minute.
Analysis: Blackmon led Vancouver with a season-high three tackles during the road draw. The centerback also made the second-most clearances for his side on defense. He did receive his first yellow card after nine starts, though.
