Set to leave Real Betis

Bakambu will not continue at Real Betis next season, the club announced.

Analysis: Bakambu leaves Real Betis after being part of the squad that reached the UEFA Conference League final in 2025 and secured Champions League qualification last May. The DR Congo international continues his involvement at the World Cup as the Leopards will face England on Wednesday in the round of 32. Bakambu will return from the competition as a free agent and will be able to sign with the club of his choice to continue his career.

Analysis: Bakambu contributed one shot and two aerial duel wins across his 57 minutes in Tuesday's 1-0 defeat to Colombia before being replaced by Simon banza. The veteran forward completed six passes in a match where the collective attacking output was severely limited by Colombia's disciplined defensive structure and the outstanding performance of goalkeeper Lionel Mpasi at the other end kept his side in the contest far longer than the balance of play suggested.
