Scores in Elche debut
Lemar scored one goal to go with three shots (one on goal), four crosses (one accurate) and three corners in Monday's 3-2 defeat to Real Sociedad. In addition, he was given a yellow card in the 97th minute.
Analysis: Lemar made his first appearance for Elche since joining on loan from Atletico Madrid and marked it with a goal, an impressive start to his spell with his new club. The midfielder was involved offensively with three shots and one chance created, adding three corners and four crosses, while also contributing defensively with three tackles. Lemar will look to secure a starting place in the coming weeks as he establishes himself at the club.
Joins Elche on loan
Lemar joined Elche on a season-long loan deal from Atletico Madrid on Tuesday.
Analysis: Between injuries, subpar performances and falling out of favor with manager Diego Simeone, Lemar has been a non-factor at Atletico Madrid for the better part of the last two seasons. He'll get the chance to reset his career at Elche, and if he stays healthy, the Frenchman should be able to play consistently in a squad that doesn't have many creative playmakers like Lemar.
