Could make Chicago debut
Hanche-Olsen has arrived in Chicago and was with the team ahead of Tuesday's clash against Vancouver, according to Alex Calabrese of MIR97 Media.
Analysis: Hanche-Olsen could make his first appearance for Chicago against Vancouver after completing his move from Mainz. The defender brings Bundesliga experience and should compete for a significant role in the backline after seeing limited playing time during his final seasons in Germany. It remains to be seen whether he's ready to start immediately or is initially introduced off the bench.
Completes Chicago Fire move
Hanche-Olsen completed a transfer from Mainz to Chicago Fire on Tuesday.
Analysis: The versatile defender played fewer than 20 matches in three of his four Bundesliga campaigns with Mainz, and he's decided to move to a completely different league as a result of his lack of playing time in recent years. Thanks to his experience in the Bundesliga, it wouldn't be surprising if Hanche-Olsen becomes a regular starter in the Fire's backline relatively quickly.
