Sets up equalizer
Palencia assisted once to go with four crosses (one accurate) and one chance created in Saturday's 1-1 draw versus Vancouver Whitecaps FC.
Analysis: Palencia supplied one assist, one chance created and four crosses, one accurate, across 82 minutes in Saturday's 1-1 draw with Vancouver. His biggest contribution came less than a minute after halftime, when he delivered the cross Denis Bouanga headed home to bring LAFC level. The assist was Palencia's first of the MLS season, while his four crosses reflected an active attacking role from right-back against a Vancouver side reduced to 10 men.
Substitute option Wednesday
Palencia (groin) is on the bench in Wednesday's clash with New York Red Bulls.
Analysis: Palencia's availability is excellent news for a side that has continued to deploy Ryan Hollingshead on the right side of a back four in recent weeks. Still, it's unclear when Palencia will contend for a primary role following a four-month absence. He had previously scored one goal while racking up 19 crosses, 12 clearances and 10 tackles throughout 626 minutes of league play.
