Out for season after foot surgery
Jansson (foot) underwent successful surgery to repair a fracture in the fifth metatarsal of his right foot and is expected to miss the remainder of the 2026 season, the club announced.
Analysis: Jansson will miss the remainder of the campaign after undergoing a surgical procedure to address a fifth metatarsal fracture in his right foot. The experienced centre-back sat out Wednesday's 3-3 draw against Toronto FC, prompting Iago Teodoro to partner David Brekalo in the heart of defence. The player had previously overcome a foot surgery in February to re-establish himself as an indispensable starter, logging 21 MLS starts this season. His injury forces a permanent reshuffle across the back line for the final games.
Misses midweek game
Jansson is not in the squad for Wednesday's clash against Toronto due to a late knock, per Orlando City's digital content manager Austin David.
Analysis: Jansson was expected to start in his regular center-back role but ended up excluded from a game in which Iago Teodoro moved into the initial lineup in his place. The experienced defender will be questionable for subsequent contests while he hopes to avoid a severe issue. His absence reduces the team's depth while leaving them without their third-best contributor of clearances with an average of 4.3 per game.
