Fit but might remain out of plans
Moumbagna (undisclosed) is fit for Sunday's clash against Monaco but might remain out of the club's plans, according to coach Bruno Genesio. "Everyone else is fit."
Analysis: Moumbagna had not featured in Marseille's last several matches, extending a run of absences that began with lingering discomfort during preseason, and his continued exclusion suggests he may simply not factor into manager Genesio's setup regardless of his fitness. His path back into rotation contention remains unclear as the club continues to reassess his situation.
Out against Strasbourg
Moumbagna is not in Marseille's squad for Friday's season opener against Strasbourg.
Analysis: Moumbagna has not featured in the club's last three preseason friendlies, extending a run of absences that began with lingering discomfort at Marseille's training camp in the Netherlands after he was already pulled from a starting lineup during warmups earlier in preseason. His continued unavailability leaves his path back into rotation contention up front unclear, with the club needing to reassess his status in the coming days.
