Reinforces midfield after international duty
Choiniere is back with LAFC following international duty with Canada and is available for Saturday's MLS clash against Vancouver Whitecaps after being omitted from the league's latest injury report.
Analysis: Choiniere missed the matchup against FC Dallas while representing Canada during the international break but is now ready to resume his role in LAFC's midfield. The midfielder has been a regular contributor this season, making 27 MLS appearances (19 starts), and his return provides a significant boost to the team's midfield depth. Sergio Vasquez and Ryan Raposo were among the options to cover his absence, but Choiniere should be in contention to reclaim a starting spot.
Linking up with Canadian NT
Choiniere was called up by Canada for the upcoming international break between September and October.
Analysis: Choiniere is one of six LAFC players missing the Sept. 26 matchup against FC Dallas, and he'll add midfield depth to the Canucks ahead of their three friendlies against Chile, Peru and the USMNT. Choiniere's absence will leave a huge gap in LAFC's midfield, as he's appeared in 27 games and started 19 in the 2026 MLS regular season. With Choiniere out and several other midfielders sidelined, expect Sergio Vasquez and Ryan Raposo to be options to operate in the middle of the park.
