Sidelined by knee discomfort
Antony did not feature in Wednesday's 2-0 defeat against LA Galaxy due to ongoing knee discomfort, according to coach Marti Cifuentes, per Adam Susman of The Timber Review. "Antony has been suffering a bit with his knee."
Analysis: Antony was previously omitted from Portland's injury report, suggesting he could be available for selection, but his continued knee issues ultimately kept him out of Wednesday's matchup. The Brazilian winger has struggled to find consistency recently, failing to register a goal or assist across his last four appearances, including two starts. His absence could provide additional opportunities for Ariel Lassiter and Kristoffer Velde on the flanks. With no clear indication of the severity of his knee problem, Antony's availability for Portland's upcoming fixtures remains uncertain.
Avoids absence
Antony (knee) is not on the injury report and could feature in future contests, per Adam Susman of The Timber Review.
Analysis: Antony will hope to regain the consistency he has lacked lately if he stays fit for the remainder of the season, offering a standout alternative to Ariel Lassiter and Kristoffer Velde on the flanks. While he has failed to score or assist in four consecutive appearances (two starts), the Brazilian may be relied on for shots and creative stats when he's on the field.
