Suffers calf injury
Gomez will miss between four and six weeks after sustaining a calf injury, manager Brian Schmetzer told Jackson Felts of 93.3 KJR.
Analysis: Gomez had been dealing with a hamstring injury earlier in the year, and while he was fit enough to make the bench against Philadelphia the last time out, he's set for another spell on the sidelines. This is a new setback for the defender, who hasn't played for Seattle since early March, and now he's not expected to be available until late August or early September at best.
Makes trip, unlikely to play
Yeimar (hamstring) is expected to travel with the team for the midweek match against Austin, although his involvement remains in doubt, Michael Martinez of Cascadia FC reports.
Analysis: Yeimar might be fit only for a bench role if he can see minutes in the midweek contest, having missed all MLS action since mid-March. Still, the defender's comeback is close if he avoids any setbacks, making him an alternative to Jackson Ragen and Antino Lopez at center-back, where he could rack up clearances and tackles toward the second half of the season.
