Hamstring discomfort returns
Gomez will sit out an unknown number of games due to a muscular setback, per the MLS Player Status Report.
Analysis: Gomez has barely been on the field this year, having only recently recovered from a calf injury and also dealt with another hamstring issue earlier in the season. He did play in four of the last five games, and he's an important member of the back line when healthy, but the repeated soft-tissue problems make him hard to count on. Alexander Roldan, Kim Kee-Hee and Stuart Hawkins have provided cover at center-back in his absence during the season.

Analysis: Gomez is fully fit after failing to make an official appearance since March 7, although he's likely to make a slow comeback before seeing consistent minutes. He should eventually threaten current starters Jackson Ragen and Alexander Roldan while also contending with Kim Kee-Hee and Stuart Hawkins for center-back spots. Prior to the injury, the Colombian posted four shots, 12 clearances, six tackles and four interceptions over three matches played in the 2026 MLS campaign.
