Back in action for Open Cup
Wallem (head) took part in Wednesday's US Open Cup title matchup against Columbus Crew.
Analysis: Wallem bounced back into his usual right wing-back spot after avoiding extreme consequences from the blow that forced him to leave the field in an Oct. 14 clash with Vancouver. Now that he's fit, he'll look to increase his total of five assists in the 2026 MLS season while remaining a source of creativity on the flank. His inclusion will also likely relegate Mykhi Joyner to substitute duty.
Avoids major injury

Analysis: Wallem returned to the team after serving a one-match ban and picked up from where he left off as he assisted Carlo Holse for the goal that gave St. Louis a 2-1 lead midway through the first half. That's now one goal and two assists over the last three starts for the midfielder, who's been more active on the attacking end during the second half of the campaign and the recent numbers suggest he could be unlocking another layer of fantasy upside in his game.
Suspension cleared
Wallem's one match suspension for yellow card accumulation has now been served.
Analysis: Wallem had missed the match against Portland with Rafael Santos stepping into the lineup in his place, an absence that came after he scored his first goal of the season against Vancouver just before picking up the ban. Analysis: Wallem produced at both ends of the field Sunday, ranking second on the team with three tackles and finishing as the hosts' only player with multiple chances created, one of which was a dangerous low ball that set up Carlo Holse in the 64th minute of the game. It was the second direct contribution for Wallem in the 2026 season, adding to his assist against San Jose on Aug. 16 and placing him one goal or assist shy of his previous campaign's total. He has found consistency as a wing-back and could continue to offer steady all-around value in that position throughout the season.

Wallem assisted once to go with one cross (zero accurate) and two chances created in Saturday's 3-1 win over San Jose Earthquakes. In addition, he was given a yellow card in the 77th minute.
Analysis: Wallem set up the opener for Daniel Edelman in the eighth minute. Wallem recorded 36 passes and also contributed defensively with five clearances, three tackles and an interception. This was his first goal contribution of the campaign.
Available after return to practice
Wallem cleared the concussion protocol and returned to training during the week, with St. Louis removing him from its injury report ahead of Saturday's meeting with Colorado, Matt Baker of Flyover Footy reports.
Analysis: Wallem was left out of only one game while in the concussion protocol, and he could now re-enter the rotation on the right wing. The midfielder remains without a goal or assist over 13 league appearances this year, and he's averaging 0.9 shots, 1.1 chances created and 2.0 tackles per game.
