Back in action for Open Cup
Wallem (head) took part in Wednesday's US Open Cup title matchup against Columbus Crew.
Analysis: Wallem bounced back into his usual right wing-back spot after avoiding extreme consequences from the blow that forced him to leave the field in an Oct. 14 clash with Vancouver. Now that he's fit, he'll look to increase his total of five assists in the 2026 MLS season while remaining a source of creativity on the flank. His inclusion will also likely relegate Mykhi Joyner to substitute duty.
Avoids major injury
Wallem's (head) issue is not considered serious, with manager Yoann Damet commenting he's fine after suffering a knock in the last match against Vancouver Whitecaps, Tom Timmermann of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Analysis: Wallem recorded only 40 minutes of play in the midweek clash, where his place was taken by Rafael Santos due to the injury. However, with the Norwegian likely fit to play in future matches, the team should benefit from having its first-choice right-wing-back on the pitch. He has been productive as a facilitator, racking up five assists along with one goal over his last 10 MLS outings.
