Nearing full training return
Engel (hamstring) is close to resuming full team training as he continues recovering from injury, according to coach Pablo Mastroeni, per Salt City Soccer.
Analysis: Engel has been sidelined with a hamstring injury sustained in September, most recently missing Wednesday's clash against San Jose. The defender is making progress in his recovery and appears to be approaching a return to full training, although he has yet to receive clearance for competitive action. His potential return would provide Real Salt Lake with additional defensive depth after an extended absence.
Still sidelined
Engel (hamstring) remains out for Wednesday's clash with San Jose, per the MLS Injury Report.
Analysis: Engel remains sidelined with a hamstring injury he picked up in September. The club still hasn't given a timeline on his return, so Engel remains uncertain at the very least. He could be back before the end of the regular season depending on the severity of the injury.
