Signs extension through 2027-28
Ramirez has signed a new contract with Austin FC guaranteed through the end of the 2027-28 MLS season, according to the club.
Analysis: Ramirez has earned a new deal following an impressive debut campaign with Austin FC after joining the club in February 2026. The veteran striker leads the team with nine league goals and ranks third with 11 goal contributions, establishing himself as an important attacking option despite starting just 14 of his 25 appearances. His performances have included two braces against Vancouver and San Diego in September. The extension secures his future in Austin through the 2027-28 season, with Ramirez set to occupy a senior roster spot beginning in the 2027 MLS Sprint Season.
Scores twice in comeback
Ramirez scored two goals to go with three shots (three on goal) and one chance created in Saturday's 3-3 draw versus San Diego FC. In addition, he was given a yellow card in the 87th minute.
Analysis: Ramirez spearheaded Austin's remarkable comeback, heading home Jonathan Bell's cross in the 82nd minute before scoring the equalizer with a right-footed finish four minutes later. He has now started three consecutive matches and continues to strengthen his case for a regular attacking role. Ramirez has recorded nine goals and two assists across 23 MLS appearances this season, including 13 starts.
