Signs extension through 2027-28
Ramirez has signed a new contract with Austin FC guaranteed through the end of the 2027-28 MLS season, according to the club.
Analysis: Ramirez has earned a new deal following an impressive debut campaign with Austin FC after joining the club in February 2026. The veteran striker leads the team with nine league goals and ranks third with 11 goal contributions, establishing himself as an important attacking option despite starting just 14 of his 25 appearances. His performances have included two braces against Vancouver and San Diego in September. The extension secures his future in Austin through the 2027-28 season, with Ramirez set to occupy a senior roster spot beginning in the 2027 MLS Sprint Season.
Scores twice in comeback
Ramirez scored two goals to go with three shots (three on goal) and one chance created in Saturday's 3-3 draw versus San Diego FC. In addition, he was given a yellow card in the 87th minute.
Analysis: Ramirez spearheaded Austin's remarkable comeback, heading home Jonathan Bell's cross in the 82nd minute before scoring the equalizer with a right-footed finish four minutes later. He has now started three consecutive matches and continues to strengthen his case for a regular attacking role. Ramirez has recorded nine goals and two assists across 23 MLS appearances this season, including 13 starts.
Two goals in 2-1 win
Ramirez scored two goals to go with two shots (two on goal) in Sunday's 2-1 victory versus Vancouver Whitecaps FC.
Analysis: Ramirez scored both goals for Austin as they won 2-1 away to Vancouver. This was the forward's only start in the last four games and brings him to seven goals for the season. So far, he has started 11 games, playing in a total of 21 so far this year. He took two shots in the game, putting both on target.
Assists off bench
Ramirez assisted once to go with zero corners and two chances created in Saturday's 1-1 draw versus San Jose Earthquakes.
Analysis: Ramirez has not been a regular fixture in Austin FC's starting XI or squad post-World Cup, but him assisting a last-minute Guilherme Biro goal hopefully boosted his stock. The assist marks Ramirez's second this season.
Nets off bench
Ramirez scored one goal to go with one shot (one on goal) in Wednesday's 3-1 victory against Seattle Sounders FC.
Analysis: Ramirez replaced Brandon Vazquez in the 83rd minute and netted in the 91st minute, assisted by Irvin Torres. Ramirez has netted three times in the last six appearances and is up to five goals for the campaign.
Nets late equalizer
Ramirez scored one goal to go with one shot (one on goal) and two chances created in Sunday's 2-2 draw versus Minnesota United.
Analysis: Ramirez's finish into the top corner Sunday pulled Austin level in their 2-2 road draw versus Minnesota. The shot was the lone attempt for the forward across his 84 minutes of play. Over his last five appearances (three starts), Ramirez has scored three goals and assisted once from eight shots (four on goal) and two crosses (two accurate).
Gets goal, assist in win
Ramirez scored one goal and assisted once from three shots and two chances created in Sunday's 2-0 victory against St. Louis City SC.
Analysis: Ramirez was a key factor in the win on Sunday with a goal and assist, doing plenty of work in the final third. The forward will find less room to operate against Minnesota United, a solid defensive team which has only conceded 16 goals in 11 domestic games.
