Progresses Steadily
Martinez recorded no stats in Wednesday's 2-0 loss against Inter Miami CF.
Analysis: Martinez earned his second straight start as he continues working his way back from an ACL injury. He is still searching for his first goal contribution, making four appearances since September while recording six shots, creating one chance, and winning one tackle.
Makes 2026 appearance
Martinez registered one shot (zero on goal) in Saturday's 2-0 victory over Real Salt Lake.
Analysis: Martinez made his season debut Saturday after recovering from the ACL injury he suffered during last season's playoffs. He was one of NYCFC's top contributors in 2025, scoring 19 goals in 33 appearances across all competitions and helping lead the club to the Conference Finals. With Nico Fernandez carrying much of the attacking load and Luighi thriving in his absence, the forward is not expected to return to the starting XI immediately as he continues to build fitness and regain match sharpness after the lengthy absence.
