On bench after injury recovery
Stefanovic (foot) has made the match squad as a substitute option Saturday versus Nashville.
Analysis: Stefanovic is available for selection in a first-team match for the first time since May, having already made a few appearances at the MLS Next Pro level. However, he had been given limited playing time even before his injury, so it could be expected for him to remain a secondary asset going forward, especially when players like Walker Zimmerman (suspension) and Benjamin Kuscevic (international duty) are back with the squad.
Still out for time being
Stefanovic (foot) remains out for the time being and continues to be listed on the MLS injury report, according to the league.
Analysis: Stefanovic has been sidelined since suffering a broken fifth metatarsal, an injury that was expected to keep him out for around eight to 10 weeks, with his return realistically targeted for sometime after the World Cup break. His continued absence keeps Toronto's defense further shorthanded, with the club already managing injuries to other back line options, and his recovery timeline will remain worth tracking as the club navigates this stretch.
