Likely rested Saturday
Cubarsi was not included in the squad for Saturday's clash against Czechia, likely for resting reasons, according to Alfredo Martinez of Onda Cero Radio
Analysis: Cubarsi has started five of Barcelona's seven LaLiga matches to open the season and remains the clear first choice at center back, building on a World Cup winning summer in which he was named the tournament's best young player at just 19 years old. Resting him during this stretch fits a pattern of managing a key player's workload given his heavy early season minutes.
Undisputed starter at center back
Cubarsi has started five matchs of Barcelona's seven games in total to start the 2026/27 La Liga campaign and remains the clear first-choice center back.
Analysis: Cubarsi enters the season fresh off winning the World Cup with Spain and being named the tournament's best young player, further cementing his status as one of the top center backs in the world at just 19 years old. He has continued that form for Barcelona, starting every league and UCL games he played so far without missing time to injury. Cubarsi is heading into the international break as a key player for his country as well despite his age.
