Remains out against Newcastle
Timber (undisclosed) has been left out of Crystal Palace's matchday squad for Sunday's Premier League clash against Newcastle United.
Analysis: Timber remains unavailable after also missing Thursday's Europa League encounter against Besiktas due to an undisclosed issue. The midfielder's absence extends to a second consecutive match across all competitions, with the nature of his problem and a potential return date still unclear. Adam Wharton and Daichi Kamada have been selected to start in central midfield against Newcastle, filling the positions Timber would normally compete for. Having established himself as a regular starter, Timber will look to reclaim his place once available, although his return timeline remains uncertain.
Out to face Besiktas
Timber is out for Thursday's match against Besiktas due to an undisclosed issue, according to manager Pierre Sage. "We have Quinten, who is out too."
Analysis: Timber is not going to be in the squad as Crystal Palace heads to Turkey on Thursday, as the midfielder is out due to undisclosed issues. It was not made clear whether this is due to injury or a personal reason, although it does raise some concerns, as a regular starter is not available. With Palace set to take the field again on Sunday against Newcastle, it is likely more will come out on his situation in the coming days. With a normal starter in the middle out, Jefferson Lerma is the likely contender to earn a starting role in his place.
