On bench Saturday
Desler (lower body) is in the match squad as a bench option in Saturday's match against Vancouver Whitecaps.
Analysis: Desler may be considered for limited playing time after being unavailable for once league game due to his lower body issue. He had made seven consecutive starts prior to the injury, so his return to the pitch will provide a major defensive boost to the squad while threatening Brendan Hines-Ike's and Jonathan Bell's involvement in the central spots of a back five. Over that run of seven starts, Desler was averaging 2.3 clearances and 1.9 interceptions per game.
Added to injury report
Desler (lower body) was listed as questionable for Wednesday's trip to LAFC, per the Austin injury report.
Analysis: Desler is a doubt for Wednesday's clash with LAFC due to a lower body issue. The exact severity of the issue is unclear, but Desler did come off in the 69th minute last week. If Desler can't go Wednesday, he may have a chance to return during Saturday's clash with Vancouver.
