Delivers goal and assist
Tolisso scored one goal and assisted once from two shots and two chances created in Saturday's 4-0 win over Rennes.
Analysis: Tolisso set up Ernest Nuamah for Lyon's seventh-minute opener before getting on the scoresheet himself with a powerful strike into the top corner in the 76th minute. The captain was influential in Lyon's attacking play throughout the victory, adding two chances created while contributing directly to two of the four goals. Tolisso now has one goal and two assists across five Ligue 1 appearances this season, giving him a consistent role in the team's early attacking production.
Set to retain key role
Tolisso remains an essential part of Lyon's midfield, with coach Paulo Fonseca praising his work rate and saying that "He had small physical problems that limited him but nothing takes away from his quality," according to GonesArea.
Analysis: Tolisso should remain a strong ball distributor while constantly pushing towards advanced central areas in future games. He has come off the bench a couple of times this season, but it was apparently a precautionary management due to his recent fitness issues. The manager's words reinforce Tolisso's standing as a key piece for Lyon while negatively affecting the involvement of Noah Nartey and Tanner Tessmann.
