Returns to Genoa
El Shaarawy has agreed to a contract with Genoa.
Analysis: El Shaarawy spent the summer as a free agent after his deal with Roma and is returning to one of his very first clubs. He registered two goals and two assists, adding 30 shots (13 on target), 18 chances created and 27 crosses (three accurate) in 27 games (eight starts) in 2025/2026, as he generally has a small role.
