Gets assist in start
Allen assisted once to go with one shot (zero on goal), one cross (zero accurate) and one chance created in Wednesday's 3-1 loss to Philadelphia Union.
Analysis: Allen assisted on a goal to give Chicago the lead but that quickly evaporated in the second half. The midfielder should be able to find openings against New England Revolution, an average defensive side overall that has slipped of late. The Revs have allowed eight goals across their last three MLS games.
Back in contention against NYCFC
Allen has returned to Chicago Fire's training sessions after completing his international duty with Greece U21, putting him back in contention for Saturday's MLS clash against New York City FC, according to Joe Chatz.
Analysis: Allen has rejoined Chicago after missing the matches against Charlotte and Vancouver during the international break. The defender's return provides an additional option ahead of Saturday's clash against NYCFC, where he could immediately reclaim a starting role. Allen has made 23 MLS appearances, including 15 starts, across his spells with Inter Miami and Chicago this season, establishing himself as a regular contributor. His return should strengthen Chicago's defensive depth as the team resumes league action.
